Mr Per Rudebjer, a Swedish national, joined Bioversity International in September 2006 as Scientist, Capacity Strengthening. He has more than 20 years of work experience in education and capacity development positions on three continents.

With a Master’s degree in Forestry from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Mr Rudebjer has worked extensively on facilitating capacity development for on forestry, agroforestry and agricultural biodiversity. He has long experience in participatory curriculum development, in partnership with university networks in Africa and Southeast Asia.

He is the author/co-author of more than 40 publications, including curriculum guides on agrobiodiversity, and training materials on forest genetic resources.  Prior to joining Bioversity he worked for eleven years at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), based in Kenya, Indonesia and Thailand.

He has also held positions at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), SLU’s Faculty of Forestry, Sweden, and StoraEnso, a Swedish private forest company. He is a member of the Science Advisory Committee on forestry, agroforestry and biodiversity of the International Foundation for Science (IFS). Based at the Headquarters, Mr Rudebjer supports knowledge management and capacity strengthening initiatives across the organization.
