Bioversity is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board’s duties include approving Bioversity’s broad organization framework. It also defines the organization’s objectives and approves and monitors plans to reach these goals.
The Board appoints the Director General to act as Bioversity’s chief executive officer. The Director General is responsible to the Board for Bioversity’s operations and management and for assuring that its programmes and objectives are properly developed and carried out.
The Board also appoints an external auditor and approves an annual audit plan.
The functions and powers of the Board and the Director General are laid out in Bioversity’s Constitution.
