General help on queries.

This form allows you to query Bioversity’s database on contacts.

You must fill in at least one of the fields on the screen to run a query. The more characters you provide, the more specific the search will be. If you provide values in more than one field, the search will retrieve all records that contain the combination of these field values.

LIST values

For some fields you can retrieve a list of existing values. These are the fields that overlap with the rectangle which contains the LIST button. The LIST button requires that at least one of the fields it covers has a query expression of one or more characters in it. The more characters you provide, the more specific the list of values retrieved will be. If you provide values in more than one field, the search will retrieve all records that contain the combination of these field values (e.g. City="Paris" AND Country="France"). To copy existing values onto the query screen just mark the appropriate values (click column left of value) and click the button "Copy values to query" at the top of the page.

Report formats

The report formats are selected in the query screen. Two report formats exist.

Full reference

The long report format contains institute addresses, contact persons at the institute. Telephone, email, fax and URL's of institute and contact data can be updated by clicking on the institute code or PIN.

Short Reference

The short report format contains institute addresses.Telephone, email, fax and URL's of institute data can be updated by clicking on the institute code.

Institute name

A list of existing values can be obtained by typing in a value (or part of a value) in the Institute name or City or Country field and clicking the LIST button.

City

A list of existing values can be obtained by typing in a value (or part of a value) in the Institute name or City or Country field and clicking the LIST button.

Country

Country where institute(s) is (are) located.
