Director General's Commentary

We know that biodiversity has an important role to play in reducing malnutrition and hunger. And it's not just we at Bioversity who understand this. In recent years, more and more people from different organizations have come to realize that biodiversity is a central element of sustainable solutions to these problems. The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity has called for a cross-cutting initiative on nutrition. This initiative will involve many different organizations with expertise in many different areas.

In this spirit, we're using this section to bring people from many fields together to discuss how we can make biodiversity more effective in the fight against hunger and malnutrition.

We know that this discussion will be fruitful and will help us identify concrete steps we can take to harness biodiversity to meet the needs of the hungry and malnourished.

And this discussion isn't just for the experts from international organizations. We want to hear what you think. Help us move forward with this. Make yourself heard.
