Overview

Evaluation and Impact

Bioversity is a learning organization. We carefully assess our work to see whether the Organization as a whole and its programmes and projects are achieving their stated goals and achieving sustained impacts.

Major types of evaluation and impact assessment in Bioversity include Centre-Commissioned External Reviews (CCERs) of major programme areas, External Programme and Management Reviews (EPMRs) of the institute as a whole and special evaluations and impact assessments of major areas of work.

These studies and reviews contribute to a better understanding about the strengths and weaknesses of our work. With this understanding, more effective projects and activities can be undertaken and greater impact on the well-being of people can be realised from Bioversity's work. This work also helps decision-makers determine where funding and resources should be directed and serves as a means by which Bioversity is accountable to donors, partners and beneficiaries.

Evaluations at Bioversity are overseen by the Institutional Learning and Change Unit.
