The Asia, Pacific and Oceania (APO) region covers 45 countries and a vast area that stretches from Mongolia in the north to Tasmania in the south and from India in the west to the islands of Micronesia in the east.
The region is characterized by diverse ecosystems and landscapes: highlands, semi-arid tropics and humid coastal plains with climates varying from temperate to tropical.
It is also home to more than half of the world's people, many of whom are economically very poor but rich in culture and knowledge about agricultural biodiversity.
Bioversity publishes 'APO-News' twice a year which talks about our agricultural biodiversity work in this region. Subscribe to the newsletter here.
