The Latin American Forest Genetic Resources Network
The Latin American Forest Genetic Resources Network (LAFORGEN) is based in the Bioversity International Office in Cali, Colombia.
CAS-IP
CAS-IP is the CGIAR System service unit for intellectual property and legal matters for the Centers with headquarters based in Bioversity's Rome Office.

History of Bioversity
Bioversity International was established in 1974 by the CGIAR. It was previously known as the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI).

Bioversity International agrees to join CGIAR Consortium
At the 35th Meeting of the Bioversity International Board of Trustees in Montpellier, France, the Board Chair and Director General issued a statement welcoming the CGIAR Change Process.
Americas
The Americas region comprises 36 independent countries and territories with a range of climates and topography, from sub-polar climates to temperate and sub-tropical areas, deserts, savannas and tropical forests.
Asia, Pacific & Oceania
The Asia, Pacific and Oceania (APO) region covers 45 countries and a vast area that stretches from Mongolia in the north to Tasmania in the south and from India in the west to the islands of Micronesia in the east.
Central & West Asia & North Africa
Central and West Asia and North Africa (CWANA) includes the ancient land of Mesopotamia, between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, where settled agriculture first began to emerge about 10,000 years ago.
Europe
Bioversity’s work in the European region is carried out through well-established regional programmes, ECPGR (European Cooperative Programme for Genetic Resources) and EUFORGEN (European Forest Genetic Resources Programme).
Sub-Saharan Africa
The sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region comprises nearly 50 countries grouped into five sub-regions: Eastern Africa, Southern Africa, West Africa, Central Africa and the islands of the eastern coast of the continent.
