Bioversity International announces incoming Director General
Bioversity International announces the appointment of Ms M. Ann Tutwiler as incoming Director General. Tutwiler, who will join Bioversity on July 15th, is currently Special Representative of the Director-General to the UN/Geneva and World Economic Forum of the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Stefano Padulosi
Currently acting as senior scientist and theme leader for the Marketing Diversity programme, Dr. Stefano Padulosi joined Bioversity in 1993, he is coordinating an international IFAD-funded project in Bolivia, Nepal and India which is testing out novel methods for the participatory documentation of agrobiodiversity, including a Red List monitoring system dedicated to cultivated species.

Vincent Johnson
Vincent joined Bioversity in April 2008 since when he has been working as the Process Manager and Science Editor for Bioversity’s Commodity Genetic Resources, Productivity and Value-Chains program in Montpellier, France. The program focuses on three ‘commodities’ of special importance to poor smallholders- banana and plantain (Musa), cocoa and coconut.

Bioversity International agrees to join CGIAR Consortium
At the 35th Meeting of the Bioversity International Board of Trustees in Montpellier, France, the Board Chair and Director General issued a statement welcoming the CGIAR Change Process.

The Americas region comprises 36 independent countries and territories with a range of climates and topography, from sub-polar climates to temperate and sub-tropical areas, deserts, savannas and tropical forests.
Asia, Pacific & Oceania
The Asia, Pacific and Oceania (APO) region covers 45 countries and a vast area that stretches from Mongolia in the north to Tasmania in the south and from India in the west to the islands of Micronesia in the east.
