EUFGIS is financially supported by the European Commission under Council Regulation (EC) 870/2004.

Implementation plan of the project

The overall methodology used to achieve the objectives of the project is based on the experiences and lessons learnt from the earlier efforts in creating information systems for crop genetic resources such as the EURISCO Catalogue and the SINGER information system. The methdology follows a proven, well-tested concept which has been developed by Bioversity and its partners in Europe and other regions of the world. The project implementation also relies on international collaboration on FGR in Europe that has been carried out through EUFORGEN over the past 12 years.

On 22-24 October 2007, the national focal points and the representatives of the EUFORGEN Networks have participated at the European workshop on FGR inventories and documentation at Magleås Center in Birkerød (near Copenhagen), Denmark please click here for the presentations given; and click here to read more on the workshop.
