
Bioversity is governed by a Board of Trustees [1] that generally meets twice a year. The Board's duties include approving Bioversity's broad organizational framework. It also defines the organization's objectives and approves and monitors efforts to achieve these goals.
The Board appoints the Director General to act as Bioversity's chief executive officer. The Director General is responsible to the Board for Bioversity's operations and management and for ensuring that its programmes and objectives are properly developed and carried out.
The Board also appoints an external auditor and approves an annual audit plan.
