Your support will make a difference

After decades of neglect and crisis, attention has now focused on the need to increase investment in agriculture for poor smallholder farming communities.

Research into biodiversity in farming systems can change lives for the better – helping to provide sufficient, safe and nutritious food for the one and half billion people who live in extreme poverty, three-quarters of whom live in rural areas and depend on agriculture and forests for their livelihoods.

Bioversity International is committed to bringing about this change. By investigating and promoting the use and conservation of biodiversity in agriculture we will ensure better nutrition, improve livelihoods and enhance the sustainability of farming systems in developing countries.

Financial support is vital if we are to achieve this aim.

It is crucial for us to engage foundations, companies and individuals, if we are to ensure that agricultural biodiversity is adequately researched and deployed to help smallholder farming communities, now and in the future.

We will be happy to give you more information to help you decide the best way to get involved with the work of Bioversity International.

The FRSB is an independent self-regulatory body for UK fundraising. It promotes compliance with best practice in fundraising, and the “give with confidence” tick is the stamp of reassurance for members of the public thinking of donating to charity.
