Açaí: could the wonder fruit also be wonderful for forests?

A joint workshop  [2] by Bioversity International and CIFOR  [3] at the IUCN World Conservation Congresson  [4] on managing wild systems and species for global food security looked at how demand for açaí's age-defying properties is leading to reforestation in the Brazilian rainforest, with smallholder forest management tending to be better for biodiversity.
