The Second Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD2 [2]) has started in Punta del Este, Uruguay. GCARD2 will focus on ways to implement the tasks identified in the GCARD RoadMap [3] with special attention to 'Foresight, partnerships and capacity development for innovation and impact on smallholder livelihoods'.

Bioversity International will be participating at GCARD 2 as part of CGIAR including 'Sustainable Use of Biodiversity [5]', a side event facilitated by Bioversity International Deputy Director, Kwesi Attah-Krah.
