Dr. Cristián Samper, President and CEO, Wildlife Conservation Society  [2], and Bioversity International Board of Trustees Member  [3] gave an opening address  [4] at the IUCN Conservation Congress  [5] in Korea yesterday highlighting the need to protect species and ecosystems in the face of a growing human footprint.The speech 'Martha's Legacy: The past, present and future of species, ecosystems and livelihood' is available here  [4].

Tomorrow, September 8th, is Nature+ Food day  [6] where Bioversity International will participate  [7] in several sessions promoting the use and conservation of agricultural biodiversity for the purposes of meeting both targets of food security and conservation.
