Our partners and advisory council
Partners
To carry out this research programme, Bioversity International will assemble a diverse team of scientists and practitioners from different disciplines including nutrition, public health, ethnobotany, economics, ecology, agronomy and anthropology.
Most of our nutrition focus will be in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, where food system experts are staffed in Bioversity's regional offices.
Bioversity works in collaboration with partners to ensure that research results are then translated into better development practices and policies that can have an impact across multiple sectors.
Partners will include:
- United Nations Agencies
- FAO and the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD)
- CGIAR
- Academic and Research Institutions
- Value Chain Actors
- Plant and animal genetic resource centres
- Development agencies, governments and non-governmental organisations
- Farmer groups, cooperatives and associations as well as movements whose aim is to sustain and protect the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and indigenous people.
Scientific Advisory Council for Nutrition
Bioversity works with an external Scientific Advisory Council to monitor and evaluate our nutrition research programme.
The Advisory Council provides expert, independent advice on nutritional science policy and strategy with a remit that includes agricultural biodiversity, food and nutrition security, diet quality and diversity and the role of ecosystems on wellbeing.
