Thesis Research

Bioversity International scientists supervise and mentor MSc and PhD thesis research students from both developed and developing countries. Students interested in carrying out Thesis Research at Bioversity will usually need to seek funding from other sources.

Thesis Research at Bioversity aims to:

  • strengthen individual capacity to conserve and make effective and sustainable use of agricultural biodiversity
  • provide mentoring and experience in an international agriculture research environment
  • give young promising scientists opportunity to conduct research on topics of priority to agrobiodiversity, and to publish their results
  • build the professional network of young scientists

The thematic scope of the thesis should be aligned with Bioversity’s research priorities: Sustainable Agriculture, Nutrition and Conservation.

Bioversity also participates in sponsored thesis research programmes with partner organizations including the GTZ/BEAF Programme for International Agricultural Research Centers.
