Bioversity International and the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR), India, are pleased to offer again this successful international training  to teach techniques for conserving genetic diversity. This practical, hands-on course is designed for those currently involved in the development and use of in vitro and/or cryopreservation techniques for the medium to long-term conservation of vegetatively propagated and non-orthodox seed species.

Previous courses have received really positive feedback from delegates. One trainee noted "It’s a very good opportunity to be trained at NBPGR. The initiative is pioneer in the cryopreservation techniques." Another one noted that the course was well-organized, informative and the learning would be applied immediately to conduct research in the home country.

Elizabeth Goldberg, Bioversity's Head of Capacity Development, is grateful for the continued support given by Bioversity's partners: “The dynamic organization and sponsorship from the NBPGR has enabled us to jointly run this course for the sixth time. We are especially pleased this year to have participating experts from several international organizations".

These include the Asia Pacific Consortium of Agricultural Biotechnology, the Seed Conservation Department - Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Technology Cooperation Bureau/Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korea.
