Bioversity International is situated just outside Rome in Maccarese, about 35km from the city centre and just 10km from Fiumicino International Airport close to the coastal resort of Fregene. It is easy to reach due to good connections with the motorway and rail network.

By Car

From the Roma-Civitavecchia motorway (A12), take the Fregene-Maccarese exit. After passing through the toll barrier, turn left, following the Bioversity International signs. You will shortly reach a T-junction, where you turn right into Via dei Tre Denari. Follow the road for about 1.5km, reaching our main entrance on the right just after the train station. There is a free car park for visitors.

By Train

Reaching Bioversity by train is very convenient due to its proximity to the Maccarese-Fregene train station on the Roma-Civitavecchia line. Trains run frequently from Rome’s main train station, Rome Termini, with the journey taking around 35 mins including local stops at Roma San Pietro, Roma Trastevere, Roma Ostiense and Roma Tuscolana.
