Bioversity International has been active in Uganda since 1997. The organization is hosted by the Government of Uganda in undertaking its research efforts which are done in joint partnership with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO).

Our partners
Bioversity International is privileged to have partnerships with the following national and international institutions.
In Uganda, Bioversity International has a strong partnership with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO), Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Makerere University, Kyambogo University as well as Busitema University among others. These collaborations span from capacity building, infrastructure development, scientific engagement, in the quest to contribute to the strategic objectives of Uganda. Importantly, Bioversity International also coordinates the consortium of eight international agricultural research centres operating in Uganda.
