Brown Fuentes, David

Informatics and GIS specialist, David Brown has worked in Bioversity International since 2006 on banana research projects in Latin America and the Caribbean, and more recently in collaboration with colleagues in Africa.

His research is focused on applied mapping and spatial analysis methodologies, tailored to banana smallholder systems, with a special interest in Plant Disease Epidemics, like Fusarium Wilt and BXW. He oversees the global banana mapping initiative, Crop-Mapper.org, a spatial information database on global banana production systems.
