Dulloo, Mohammad Ehsan

Team Leader, Integrated Conservation Strategies

Dr Dulloo provides technical leadership on the conservation and use of the initiative 'Effective genetic resources conservation and use' of Bioversity International. This area of work encompasses the design of global and national strategies and action plans for the conservation of priority crop genetic resources and their wild relatives. He also is the co-cluster leader of the Genetic Diversity cluster of Flagship 1 of the CGAIR Research Programme on Roots Tubers and Bananas.

Dr Dulloo has had a long and fruitful international research career in plant conservation and genetic resources. He previously worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) as Senior Policy Officer and has been a lead author for the preparation of FAO's first and second State of the World Reports on plant genetic resources for food and agriculture and the 2005 Millennium Ecosystem Assessment report. He won the World Bank 2009 Development Marketplace award on Climate Adaptation. He served as Assistant Conservator of Forest in Mauritius and helped to establish the Black River Gorges National Park and The National Park and Conservation Service. He also worked for Mauritian Wildlife Foundation as Plant Conservation Manager on the World Bank GEF project for the restoration of Ile aux aigrettes, Round Island and Rodrigues.
