Julia is a Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) Integrated Expert for nutrition and agricultural biodiversity.
She is participating in the research project 'Participatory approach to improve dietary diversity in Vihiga County, Western Kenya' to support communities to develop, implement and monitor their own sustainable agriculture for nutrition interventions intending to improve dietary diversity for women and small children.
The project is part of the CGIAR Research Program on Integrated Systems for the Humidtropics. Within this project Julia carried out participatory community workshops in Vihiga County.
Prior to arriving at Bioversity International, Julia was a consultant with GIZ in Bonn, Germany (2014, 2015) Expert Food and Nutrition Security with Welthungerhilfe (German NGO) in Liberia and Bonn, Germany (2014) and an intern at Bioversity International in Rome, Italy in 2013.
