Associate Scientist, Socio-Economics and Marketing

Hugo Lamers started in May 2009 as a Dutch Associate Expert in New Delhi, India. He joined the regional project management team of the on-farm conservation project for cultivated and wild tropical fruit tree diversity in Asia.

He contributes to the research on value chains for minor crops, the marketing of fruit diversity, community-based biodiversity management and the impact assessment in collaboration with partners in India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. Since May 2012 he participates as part of the markets research team in value chain research utilizing his expertise and interest in participatory methods and tools for value chain development and conservation.

Hugo Lamers is from the Netherlands. He graduated in 2005 from Wageningen University for his specialization development economics. Before he joined Bioversity he worked as general manager for an Indonesian NGO in Aceh province and as a marketing consultant for Mercadero in the Netherlands.
