As of March 2019, Annabelle Lhommeau manages the Productive and Resilient Farms, Forests and Landscapes Research Initiative, which looks at the role of crop and tree diversity within sustainable farming and forestry systems. Annabelle has 17 years of international experience working on international cooperation, and on agricultural and rural development from a programme management perspective. Before joining Bioversity International, Annabelle worked at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as Country Programme Manager. She was responsible for IFAD’s investment programmes in several countries (Albania, Chad, Djibouti, Montenegro, Palestine, the Central African Republic and Tunisia), covering responsibilities ranging from strategic in-country engagement and partnership, to project design, supervision and implementation support. Earlier on, Annabelle had worked 2.5 years for the Economic Mission of the French Embassy in India, and one year for the Moroccan Bank for External Trade in Morocco.
