Suzanne Ngo-Eyok, a French citizen, is an experienced professional in both the Corporate and Not for Profit fields. Prior to her current appointment as the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT Managing Director for Africa, she was managing two research initiatives at Bioversity International - Effective Genetic Resources Conservation and Use, and  Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems.

Suzanne has over 12 years of experience, including 9 years in west and central Africa, working with a range of international development organizations like USAID, World Bank, DFID, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Walmart Foundation, MasterCard Foundation, and recently with the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF).  During her four-year tenure at WCF, Suzanne provided strategic leadership, and led stakeholder engagement and programme implementation in Cote D’Ivoire as the WCF Côte d’Ivoire Country Director and the Cocoa Livelihoods Program Director. The latter is a regional programme implemented in concert with private sector partners and national governments, seeking to leverage the cocoa value chain to improve cocoa farmers’ household income in west Africa. Prior to this assignment she worked in Accra as the Agricultural Trade and Business Environment Director at the West Africa Trade Hub and as the Institutional Capacity Building Specialist within the USAID Expanded Agribusiness and Trade Promotion project.

Responsibilities across the different roles have encompassed management and operations, programme planning and implementation, advocacy, partnerships and resource mobilization.  Her other experiences include 6 years of public private partnership development and policy dialogue for trade in eight of the fifteen ECOWAS member states in West Africa, including 6 months as Policy Analyst in Abuja at the ECOWAS Commission.
