Rose Kyotungire Taremwa is the Country Office Manager, based at the Kampala Office. She joined Bioversity International in May 2015 and her main areas of responsibility are overseeing financial management, HR management and operations of the Eastern and Southern Africa regional offices currently in Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Tanzania and Uganda. Rose has a key coordination role with the host country government about matters related to the Agreement between Bioversity International and the Government of Uganda. She is also responsible for developing, reviewing and implementing office policies and procedures.
When joining Bioversity International, Rose had over 7 years of professional work experience in HR roles within corporate, private-sector companies. She held various positions at the operational and strategic level delivering on HR management including interviews and selection, rewards and benefits, team-building, employee relations and conflict resolution, implementation of performance management, change management, carrying out salary surveys and advisory roles on country labour regulations.
Rose is a Ugandan national and speaks English and basic French. She is also a teacher, management and leadership trainer.
Post Graduate Certificate in Female Future Leadership Development Program by Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise.
Masters of Management Studies specializing in Human Resources from Uganda Management Institute.
Bachelors of Arts in Education from Makerere University.
