In October 2015, project partners organized and participated in a side event during the Sixth Session of the Governing Body of the ITPGRFA in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) entitled ‘Mutually Supportive Implementation of the Plant Treaty and the Nagoya protocol’ in Rome, Italy. During the event, panelists presented progress and plans on mutually supportive national-level implementation of the International Treaty’s multilateral system and the Nagoya Protocol in different countries.

Partners from the project participating as panelists included Naritiana Rakotoniaina Ranaivoson (National Focal Point for ABS in Madagascar), Kathryn Garforth (from the Secretariat of the CBD, Kent Nadozie (from the Secretariats of the International Treaty) and Raymond Vodouhe and Michael Halewood (from Bioversity International).
