Structuring research for impact
Assessing the impact of agricultural research is necessary for reasons of accountability, attribution, strategic planning and allocation of resources. To this end, at Bioversity International we follow certain principles that allow us to connect, support, disseminate and evaluate our research in a constant cycle of learning and improvement to achieve impact through our research activities.
Our impact assessment system has evolved over time as the organization’s work programme has changed, influenced by forces such as its internal reflection, needs of partners, and views of donors, the Board of Trustees and the CGIAR's Independent Science and Partnership Council.
We place strong emphasis on the identification and development of tools, methods and approaches needed along the development impact continuum to ensure the achievement of development outcomes and Bioversity International’s strategic objectives.
